Inside the Cinema Luxe Lounge at Harrods

IndigoZest’s latest showroom, built in partnership with The Faraday Club and designed by Cinema Luxe, is now open on the Fifth Floor of Harrods.

There is a particular moment in a well-designed cinema or media room — the lights dim, the first note sounds, the room responds — where technology becomes something else entirely. It stops being an installation and becomes an experience. The Cinema Luxe Lounge, was built around that moment.

The room was conceived and integrated in partnership with The Faraday Club, a curated collective of the world’s most considered audio, visual, and tailored technology brands housed within Harrods’ Tech Hall, with the interior designed by Cinema Luxe. It is not a showroom in any conventional sense. It is a fully realised living environment, designed to the material standard of a high-end private residence, where visitors can understand, through direct experience, what their home could feel like when technology, architecture, and craftsmanship are in genuine accord.

A room designed from the inside out

The design brief, led by Cinema Luxe, began not with a technology specification but with the quality of the room itself. Wall treatments absorb and diffuse without deadening the space. Lighting is conceived in layers, moving from warm, convivial tones to deep cinematic atmosphere at the touch of a button. Every surface — every material selected — earns its place acoustically as well as aesthetically.

Three distinct design palettes are available through Cinema Luxe: Chelsea Noir, a composition of dark tonal materials with subtle metallic accents; Belgravia Calm, soft neutrals and warm timber delivering understated elegance; and The Kensington Blue, an enveloping combination of deep blue tones, brushed brass, and intimate depth.

Each is available as a complete package, or as the beginning of something entirely bespoke, designed in consultation with the Cinema Luxe team.

The room is calm and intentional. What it conceals is extraordinary.

Concert-grade audio, brought home

At the heart of the Cinema Luxe Lounge is an L-Acoustics Dolby Atmos-compliant sound system — a 7.1.2 configuration that creates a fully three-dimensional soundscape, with audio moving not only around you but above. The clarity is precise. The power is controlled. The realism places you inside the content rather than in front of it.

L-Acoustics is the brand behind Adele’s Las Vegas residency, the Philharmonie de Paris, and some of the world’s most technically demanding live performance venues. Their arrival in the residential space — adapted for the acoustic conditions of a private home — represents a meaningful shift in what home cinema design and installation can offer. This is not consumer audio repositioned as luxury. It is professional audio, properly engineered for the home.

“Exceptional sound has the power to completely transform how we experience a space,” says Nick Fichte, Global Business Development Lead at L-Acoustics. “The Cinema Luxe Lounge is an opportunity to demonstrate how immersive audio can become an integral part of luxury living — delivering not just performance, but atmosphere, comfort, and a deeper connection to content.”

For those who want the L-Acoustics experience without a full Atmos installation, the room also illustrates alternative configurations: a 5.2 system for those who want cinematic immersion in a more contained format, and a two-channel stereo system for clients where music is the primary consideration — where precision and detail matter more than scale.

Amina invisible speakers offer a further option for spaces where the integrity of the interior cannot be compromised. Installed directly into walls and ceilings, with no visible footprint, sound appears to emerge from the fabric of the room itself.

Control that disappears

The entire room is unified through Control4 — lighting, audio, visuals, and shading responding from a single, elegant interface with no complexity and no cluttered remotes. A pre-set scene moves the room from a warm lounge environment to full cinematic immersion in a matter of seconds: lights dim, blinds close, the system wakes.

QMotion motorised blackout blinds exclude natural light quietly and completely, fully integrated with the rest of the room rather than operating as a separate layer. Kaleidscape provides the content platform — lossless audio and 4K HDR, at a quality no streaming service can match, accessible from the same interface that controls the rest of the space.

Studio Vellari seating completes the environment. Each piece is built entirely around the individual — upholstery, ergonomics, configuration, and finish all determined in consultation — and designed to complement the architecture while supporting hours of effortless viewing.

A collaboration built on shared standards

The Cinema Luxe Lounge is the result of a close collaboration between Faraday Club partners and IndigoZest. What each partner brought to it was different; what we shared was a refusal to accept anything that did not meet the standard of the room.

IndigoZest is one of the UK’s most awarded CEDIA-certified smart home integrators — a Control4 Diamond and Pinnacle Partner, and four-time Control4 Circle of Excellence winner (2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025). Our role in the Cinema Luxe Lounge was to make the technology invisible in the best possible sense: to integrate every system, calibrate every element, and ensure that the experience the room delivers is consistent, reliable, and effortless to operate. That is the work we do on every project — taking systems of genuine complexity and making them feel natural to live with.

“The Cinema Luxe Lounge reflects the Faraday Club’s philosophy,” says Tim Garman, Co-Founder of The Faraday Club. “Allowing visitors to encounter luxury technology not as a collection of products, but as a carefully composed environment where every detail contributes to how the space is felt and enjoyed.”

Alexandra Holder, Harrods Buying Manager for Home, Toys & Technology, adds: “The Cinema Luxe Lounge offers our customers an opportunity to experience how advanced entertainment technology can be integrated into beautifully designed residential environments — reflecting the growing demand for immersive experiences within the home.”
