What can be Integrated?

Smart Home Security • Multi-room Audio • Home Cinema • Centralised App • Voice Control • Networking • Automation • Smart Lighting

Control4’s latest operating system OS 3 brings all your favourite devices together so that you can control them all from one place. Its system and user interface is modular, meaning it can adapt to each home irrespective of the number of rooms or features integrated. Speaking of which, you can choose to integrate and control anything from lighting to even the speakers in an outdoor garden.

How Does it Work?

It begins with the consolidation of most control devices — for instance, TV set-top boxes, into a central location: the rack. The system is wired up, connecting each device to a control module powered by Control4 which orchestrates and “talks” to all smart home devices. The system communicates with the rest of the home via a high-speed Cat 6 data cable. Wireless options are also available for older homes or in the case of refurbishment.

After a decade of designing smart homes, we have both the expertise and experience to help you bring your project to life. Each rack is custom made to support the devices it houses and is assembled at our Kings Langley workshop before being transported to the site to be installed & commissioned by our certified install team.

Rack Size – The footprint (width and depth) are generally always the same. The standard width would be 600mm x 800mm. The height will vary depending on how much equipment is required for your installation. In some larger installations, it is possible to have 2 racks but we will discuss and advise you on your requirements. In addition, some space will be required for ventilation, no less than 50mm on each side.

Home Automation

Think of it as your very own helping hand around the house. Control4’s operating system OS 3 is intelligently capable of automating a series of personalised actions based on a number of triggers to choose from:

  • Scheduled timers
  • Button press
  • Sensors (motion, temperature, humidity, etc)
  • Events, or controlled by another device.

These are called Scenes and can be managed within the user control panel.

Good Morning Scene

Set to happen automatically at a certain time in the morning, a “Wake Up” scene opens the shades gradually over a period of time, ramps up the temperature, and turns on the TV to your favourite news channel.

Away Scene

A single tap turns off all lights in the house, powers down audio/video devices, locks the doors, arms the security system, dials back the temperature, and ensures the garages are closed.

Welcome Scene

When you open the garage door, pathway lights illuminate to lead your way into the house while your playlist starts in the family room and the garage closes itself as you enter.

Party Scene

As guests arrive, your house puts itself into entertaining mode by lighting up the backyard, firing up the jacuzzi, and setting the music to a favourite party playlist in the most frequented spaces.

Good Night Scene

When it’s time to turn in, the house puts itself into sleep mode, turning off all music, TVs, and lights, locking the doors, arming the alarm, and adjusting the thermostat for comfortable rest.

Get in Touch

The best place to start is with a visit to our showroom or request an online demonstration (learn more).

Once a consultant has been assigned, we will request a copy of your plans and drawings prior to the meeting. This is the place for you to ask all your questions and gain clarity on each bespoke service best suited for your build.

We also encourage you to discuss your ideal ‘wouldn’t it be great if we could…’ visions. If you can think it, more often then not, we can automate it.

Receive a Proposal

After the visit or online discussion, we will have established your requirements and will help you create a ‘wishlist’. This will form the basis of a proposal with per-room breakdowns for you.

Please note that this is not set in stone but offers enough detail for you to gauge a cost and make some informed decisions.

Start a Conversation

This is where we can really take a deep dive into creating your vision. By now you will have an understanding of what is possible, but also the cost and detail involved in making your smart home a reality.

We will fine-tune your requirements, make adjustments to equipment specs, allow for future scaling, and hone in on the details that will make a smart home specific to you.
