Simplicity, functionality, and elegance – these are the basic aspects of Danish design and an evident influence on the design of this home.
As soon as you enter the property, you are greeted by a serene and inviting atmosphere that exudes both comfort and style, with effortless design throughout. All areas harmoniously coordinate with each other, a crucial aspect that was carefully considered during the home’s planning stages.
The Brief
Recognising the need for a home automation system, the owners approached us early in the planning stages, where they visited our showroom for full smart home demo. Impressed by the functionality and user-friendly features of Control4, they opted for a whole-home solution alongside Lutron lighting control.
By involving us in the initial stages of the planning process, our team gained a comprehensive understanding of the desired ambiance and lifestyle the owners wished to cultivate within the space. This enabled us to recommend solutions effectively and assist them throughout the entirety of the construction process, with provisions made for long term support. It also provided the opportunity to collaborate with the architect, interior designer, and other construction partners to seamlessly integrate the solution into the overall design of the home.
Project Highlights
Comprising of over 160 lighting circuits, 13 video zones and 30 audio zones, all aspects of this home were carefully considered to ensure the solution meet the owners needs and requirements.
By including Control4 as the overarching control system, the owners are able to better manage their home across all three floors, with all integrated elements accessible via Control4 touchscreens, Neeo remotes, the mobile app and tactile Lutron Palladiom Keypads – which compliment the interiors beautifully.
The lighting design, by Detail Lighting, layers varying lighting styles to create subtle changes in ambience throughout the day. By using lighting control, changing the ambience is effortless, with certain scenes programmed to happen automatically. These include the ‘wake up’ scene where lighting, audio and blinds are automated to provide a gradual morning alarm.
Colour Co-ordinated Audio
With a passion for music, strategically placed Triad speakers were installed throughout, offering ambient music from anywhere in and outside the property. In the main living room and games space, high-quality Artcoustic in-wall speakers and subwoofers are incorporated, allowing the rooms to transition from regular use to entertainment hubs with a full spec cinematic setup in the living room. Using Artcoustic’s colour match service, each speaker seamlessly blends into the home’s interior, creating a discreet yet unparalleled audio experience.
Outdoor Living
The outdoor area was a crucial component of this project, encompassing an outdoor kitchen, dining area, hot tub, and various relaxation spots. Along with lighting and audio, we installed a 360 degree automated TV lift, discreetly integrated into the kitchen design. This feature enhanced the usability of the space with the TV able to be enjoyed from anywhere in the garden.
